Setsu

Setsu is a Japanese designer who comprehensively designs a wide range of products from architecture, interior and space, product and packaging design. Under the theme of material characteristics and design, they he worked on a wide variety of projects, from large spaces to small products, from handmade traditional methods to high-tech electronic devices. His work has been presented all over the world and he has won many international design awards. His works are stored as permanent collections in the Modern Art Museums in Munich and Milan.
Setsu and Shinobu Ito opened their design studio in Milan in 1997 and since then, they work and consult for international clients in a wide range of activities of design.
Setsu Ito is graduated at the University of Tsukuba in Japan (1989), started collaborating with leader of avant-garde Italian design Alessandro Mendini in the Studio Alchimia and then with great master of modern architecture and design, Angelo Mangiarotti.
He received design awards such as: "Compasso d' Oro" (2011, Italy), "Compasso d' Oro Menzione d' Onore" (2011, Italy), "Red Dot Award Best of the Best" (2016, Germany, Singapore), "Design Plus" (2016, Germany), "NY NOW Best Product" (2017, USA), ”The Good Design Award (2001, Japan), “Mastro d'arte della pietra” (2019, Italy_ since 1319 this award for the 700th anniversary of the traditional award given to the stone artist Maestro) and many other international design awards.
